who is srimati radharani ?

“         The Divine Power resplendent with mysterious illumination and is extolled and worshipped by the Vedas is Sarveswari Srimati Radharani.

She is the absolute Shakti. She is the greatest and the source of all shaktis. She is the whole while all other shaktis are Her parts.

Once vedic scholars asked Lord Brahma,

“Among many Gods and Goddesses why Srimati Radharani, alone shall be worshipped? What is the reason behind such uniqueness.”

Lord Brahma replied, “Dear sons, Srimati Radharani is the foremost DIVINE POWER. She is the cause, nourisher and protector of all Divine Powers of the universes.

          The Radhikopanishad reveals,

“Tha Svahladinee Vareeyasi Paramanta Ranga Bhootha Radha, Krishnena Aradhyatha Ithi Radhe”

Sri Krishna the Lord of Lords worships Srimati Radharani. This is the reason why Sarveswari Srimati Radharani alone is worshipped. My entire longevity is insufficient to describe the powers and omnipotence of Srimati Radharani” said Lord Brahma ( Lord Brahma’s life span is equal to 311 trillion 40 billion human years.  This period is called “Maha Kalpa” )

padma purana & the other scriptures singing the glories

“           Sri Narad Muni glorifies Srimati Radharani in the Patal-khanda of Sri Padma-Purana

  •   “O Devi ( Srimati Radharani ), You are the source of all that is specially pure and good.
  • You are the source of the hladini, sandhini and samvit potencies and You are the Supreme Power and Supreme Knowledge.
  • You give supreme bliss to Sri Bhagavan and even Brahma and Rudra (Shiva) cannot understand You.
  • Your opulence is remarkable in every aspect.
  • The best of yogis cannot reach You with their meditation.
  • I feel all the divine shaktis are Your parts as You control various shaktis such as ichcha-shakti (will power), gyan-shakti (the power of knowledge) and kriya-shakti (the power of action).
  • Swayam Bhagavân Sri Krishna, Who is the Supreme Personality, has countless majesty and They are also Your parts.”

To explain further, Srimati Radharani is also the source of the other goddesses, who are expansions of Her.

Just as Lord Krishna is the source of all other expansions and incarnations of God, Radharani is the source of all other expansions of the energies of God, the shaktis, or other goddesses.

Thus, Vishnu, Rama, even Shiva are all expansions of the one Supreme Being, and similarly Lakshmi, Sita, and even Durga are all expansions of Srimati Radharani.

Mentions In The chaitanya charitramrit & hidden facts & meaning of raas leela

“         It is explained that the beloved consorts of Lord Krishna are of three kinds, namely

  • The goddesses of fortune or Lakshmis.
  • His queens, and the milkmaids of Vraja called the gopis.

All of them proceed from Srimati Radharani.

The Lakshmis (in the vaikunthas) are partial manifestations, or plenary portions, of Srimati Radharani, while the queens in Vaikuntha and in Dvaraka are reflections of Her image.

The Vraja-devis or gopis are Her expansions and assist in the increase of rasa, or the divine loving pastimes.

Among them there are many groups that have various sentiments and moods, which help Lord Krishna taste the sweetness of the rasa dance and other pastimes.

        (Chaitanya Charitramrit –  Adi-lila. 4. 75-81)

( Note: Remember as per Srimad Bhagavatam Puran, Raas Lila is union of God with his devotee. It has got NOTHING TO DO WITH male-female material enjoyment – as falsely claimed by various west historians.)

Rasa Lila is divine pleasure. It is somewhat similar to – the un-explainable pleasure that one gets after accomplishment of Kundalini Yoga, the ultimate anand that one gets after deeply immersing in Samadhi, connecting with cosmic energy and feeling blessings of supreme soul (Paramatma).

Lord Krishna only embraces pure and celibate (brahmacharic) things.

This fact we might not know, Krishna decorates his mukut with Mor Pankh (peacock feather) because peacock is the only creature in their breed in this world practising celibacy (brahmacharya). They never indulge in physical relationship to give birth. Peahen sip tears from the eyes of dancing peacock and then gives birth to their pea-chickens. The special breed of such peacocks and peahens are very rare in Kaliyuga but can be found after expedition.

Translations by britishers and mughal courtiers of major Vedic texts and Puranas painted wrong images of Hindu gods especially Bhagwan Krishna, depicting him in a wrong image for the sake of getting the fame for their own religions & satisfactions.

Bhagawan Shri Krishna therefore wears Mor Pankh in his Mukut. Soul (Aatma) is pure and that’s why merging soul to Bhagwan Krishna (Paramatma) is easy path to attain Moksha.

Next time, let us not sing or dance to the tunes of songs depicting Raas Lila as lustful romance. Instead, we should register our anger and get united to protest. Such mockers should be lawfully punished.

rigveda singing the glories of srimati radharani

Sri Radhikopanishad from Rigveda:

Once Sages Sanaka and others who are shining with Divine power have praised Lord Brahma Deva and enquired,

  •  “Oh! God! Among all Gods and Goddesses who are prominent?
  •  What are their powers?
  •  Among these powers which is the Supreme and Primordial that has caused the existence of creation?

Responding to their questions Lord Brahma replied,

“Dear sons listen carefully. This is most sacred truth and the great secret indeed. This should be revealed only to affable Jeeva Brahmavadi and Guru Bhaktha (Devotees of Guru). If this secret is revealed to a non-devotee it would be lead to a great sin.

Sri Radhika is also known as Gandharva.

  •  The ocean of Rasa for the sake of Divine play has manifested as two.
  •  Sarweswari Radha equals Krishna in all the ‘Kalas’ (Divine aspects). She is the life of Krishna.
  •  She is the quintessential Prema Swaroopini.
  •  All the Four Vedas worship Sri Radhaji in solitude.
  •  The Rishis endowed with Brahma Gnana (Knowledge of Brahman) acclaims Her greatness.
  •  Even if I endeavor throughout my life span, I cannot fully describe Her Mahima (paramountcy) and Her Divine play.
  •  That Jeeva who receives Grace of Sri Radha, he only could reach Her Divine Abode (Parama Dham).
  •  That being is a great stupid who worships only Krishna ignoring Sri Radhaji.

glories of sri radha sung in the vedas

“         A discussion arose among Brahmavadi Rishis as to why only Srimati Radharani should be worshipped. At that very moment a great illumination appeared before them.

That light is of the VEDA. It said,

  •  The innate Divine power of all Gods and Goddesses emerged only from Sri Radhika Devi.
  •  We the Vedas bow before Sri Radhaji with reverence who is the power and creator of all Gods and Goddesses.
  •  By Her minutest grace, all the Devatas dance in ecstasy.
  •  By her slightest annoyance they shiver in fear.
  •  We too worship Her with our heart and soul to graciously condone our shortcomings.

By whose light the colour of Shyam that resembles the light of Indra Nila Mani, turns into colour of Gold AND whose glance the black birds of nature like crows, cuckoos become golden, to that Mother of universes we Salute in veneration.

Whose Divine Glory, we the Vedas, the Upanishads, the Sankhya Yoga could not comprehend, whose glorious Divine Play, the Puranas could not depict, to that Brahma Swaroopini Sri Radhaji, we salute with devotion.

( Furthermore ) We salute Sri Radhaji, who is the Pranadhishtana (life giver) Devatha of the dictator of universes Sri Krishna, who is the worship Goddess of Lord Sri Krishna and who is the protector of devotees.

The ardent devotee of Divine Love, the ruler of universes- Nandanandan, whose feet dust He wears upon His head in whose Love does He forget all His Vibhoothis (Divine Splendours) like the Flute and to whom He sold out Himself, to that Supreme Goddess (Sri Radha Devi) we salute in devotion.

By viewing whose Divine Play Chandra (the Moon) and the celestial maidens forget their body consciousness and are nonplussed in love and ecstasy to that Raseswari (Sri Radha) we offer our Pranamas (Salutation).

Resting in whose lap the Sachidana Purushothama Sri Krishna forgets even Goloka, who is the creator of Goddess Lakshmi and Parvathi, to that ocean of power (Sriji) we salute in deep reverence.

Engrossed in whose Guna Gana (singing of Divine traits) with three varied levels of musical notes –

  • Mandra,
  • Madhyama,
  • Tara/Ghor.

the Sakhi Gana (the Group of Sakhis ) of Vrindavan forgot days and nights and carried away by their Love-intensity, who had arranged Brahma Rathri (the night of Brahma) and graced them Ras Ecstasy ceaselessly, to that Prema Murthi (embodiment of Love) we bow in devotion.

Who sings the Flute (Murali) with Her tender fingers assuming the form of Dvibhuja Krishna (Dual Armed Krishna) who is adorned by Nanda Nandan with Jasmine, Kalpa Vriksha flowers, we salute that Sri Radha Devi in devotion.

Sri Radha and Krishna both is one ocean of Rasa.

These two Roopa (forms) are like body and its shadow. At any instance, they have no separation.

Those devotees who drink the nectar of their Divine play invariably reach the ultimate Divine Abode.

beauty of srimati radharani ?

“          The beauty of Srimatī Rādhārāni’s eyes forcibly devours the beauty of newly grown blue lotus flowers, and the beauty of Her face surpasses that of an entire forest of fully blossomed lotuses.

Her bodily luster seems to place even gold into a painful situation. Thus the wonderful, unprecedented beauty of Srimatī Rādhārāni is awakening in Vrndāvana.”

( Chaitanya-caritāmṛta Antya 1.169, Purport )

“The beauty of Srimatī Rādhārāni is described as follows:

  • ‘Her eyes defeat the attractive features of the eyes of the chakorī bird.
  • When one sees the face of Rādhārāni, he immediately hates the beauty of the moon.
  • Her bodily complexion defeats the beauty of gold.

Thus, let us all look upon the transcendental beauty of Srimatī Rādhārāni.”

( Nectar of Devotion, Chapter 44 )

śrī-rādhikāyāḥ priyatā su-rūpatā
su-śīlatā nartana-gāna-cāturī
guṇāli-sampat kavitā ca rājate

The female parrot said,

  • “Srimati Rādhārani’s affection,
  • Her exquisite beauty and good behavior,

Her artistic dancing and chanting and Her poetic compositions are all so attractive that they attract the mind of Krishna, who attracts the mind of everyone in the universe.”

( Chaitanya caritāmṛta Madhya Lila – 17.212 )

balād akṣṇor lakṣmīḥ kavalayati navyaṁ kuvalayaṁ
mukhollāsaḥ phullaṁ kamala-vanam ullaṅghayati ca
daśāṁ kaṣṭām aṣṭāpadam api nayaty āṅgika-rucir
vicitraṁ rādhāyāḥ kim api kila rūpaṁ vilasati
  •     ‘The beauty of Śrimati Rādharaṇi’s eyes forcibly devours the beauty of newly grown blue lotus flowers,
  •     The beauty of Her face surpasses that of an entire forest of fully blossomed lotuses.
  •     Her bodily luster seems to place even gold into a painful situation.

Thus the wonderful, unprecedented beauty of Śrimati Rādharaṇi is awakening in Vṛndāvana.

( Chaitanya caritāmṛta Antya  Lila – 1.169 )

vidhur eti divā virūpatāṁ śata-patraṁ bata śarvarī-mukhe
iti kena sadā śriyojjvalaṁ tulanām arhati mat-priyānanam
  • ” Although the effulgence of the moon is brilliant initially at night, in the daytime it fades away.
  • Similarly, although the lotus is beautiful during the daytime, at night it closes.

But, O My friend, the face of My most dear Śrimati Rādhāraṇi is always bright and beautiful, both day and night.

Therefore, to what can Her face be compared?”

( Chaitanya caritāmṛta Antya  Lila – 1.170 )

Instead of being attracted by material beauty, if one is accustomed to be attracted by the beauty of Radhārāni and Krishna, then the statement of Bhagavad Gita, परं दृष्ट्वा निवर्तते  [ 9.59 ], holds true.

When one is attracted by the transcendental beauty of Rādhā and Krishna, he is no longer attracted by material feminine beauty. That is the special significance of Rādhā-Krishna worship.

That is testified to by Yāmunācārya.

He says, “Since I have become attracted by the beauty of Rādhā and Krishna, when there is attraction for a woman or a memory of sex life with a woman, I at once spit on it, and my face turns in disgust.”
( Srimad Bhagavatam – 3.31.38, Purport )

One who is attracted by the beauty of Rādhā and Krishna, cannot be attracted by the false beauty of this material world. That is the difference between a demon and a godly person or devotee.
