Shri Keshavbhatt Kashmiri Ji

MEETING WITH SRI KRISHNA CHAITANYA MAHAPRABHU

“ ( In this pastime, Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was present in his child swaroop / form)

Digvijaya ( the one who had defeated all the scholars of the country in shaastra-arth ) Shri Keshavbhatt Kashmiri ji had came to Navadweep ( Bengal ) while traveling.

The learned scholars of scriptures (shaastras), became frightened by the arrival of Digvijaya Shri Keshavbhatt Kashmiri ji.

At that moment itself 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗶 𝗞𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗻𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗵𝘂 with his disciples came and sat on the most pleasant bridge of Shri Gangaji and started discussing the scriptures.

At the same time, Shri Keshavbhat ji also came and sat near Shri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, and then Shri Mahaprabhuji said very humbly – “Your good luck is prevailing in the whole world, so this desire is happening in my mind that I too also should hear something about the scriptures from you.”

Hearing these words of Shri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhuji, Shri Keshavbhat ji said that, as you are still a child and study with the children, but you talk very deep like a scholar, I am very happy to see your humility and kindness, you should let me know your desire of which topic of shaastra would you like to hear from me.

SHAASTRA-ARTH / DEBATE WITH SHRI CHAITANYA MAHAPRABHU

Shri Mahaprabhu ji said – Please describe the nature (swaroop) of Shri Ganga Ji….. Then Shri Keshavbhat ji immediately recited 𝟭𝟬𝟬 new verses composed by him in a fluent manner.

Hearing them, Shri Mahaprabhuji’s intellect was filled with surprise. After that, by memorizing 𝟭 verse out of those 𝟭𝟬𝟬 verses which was recited by Shri Keshavbhat ji, Shri Mahaprabhuji narrated it to Shri Keshavbhat ji and requested, please also explain the defects and virtues of this 𝟭 verse.

Hearing this, Shri Keshavbhattji said that how should there be any fault in the creation of my verses? Shri Mahaprabhuji said – It is natural to have a trace of fault in the composition of poetry (or verses), if you allow me, I will describe you its faults?

Then Shri Mahaprabhuji gave a new interpretation of that verse with its merits and demerits.

Shri Keshavbhatt ji said – Well, now I will meet you again in the morning and will express my views on this.

Saying this he went to his residence and in solitude, Shri Keshavbhatt Kashmiri ji meditated on Devi Shri Saraswati ji. Devi Shri Saraswati ji immediately appeared in front of him in the form of a child swaroop.

Shri Keshavbhatt Kashmiri ji said that with your grace I was winning in the shaastra-arth in the whole world, but why did I got defeated in front of a child? Shri Saraswati ji said- He is not a child, he himself is Lord Krishna and my master, what is my capacity that I can stand in front of him and argue?

Shri Keshavbhata ji was very happy after hearing this divine statement of Shri Saraswati ji. After that, Shri Keshavbhata ji came to Shri Mahaprabhuji and prayed humbly in front of his divine grace in many ways…..

Then Shri Mahaprabhuji 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱 that, “Leave the debates of win and loss of the scriptures, and enjoy the taste of devotion, from now onwards kindly don’t do the debates with anyone…..

Shri Keshavbhatt ji took this word of Shri Mahaprabhu ji in his heart and left the debate and the title of Digvijaya and started getting immersed in the pleasure of exclusive devotion (bhakti) with the 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗶 𝗞𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗻𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗵𝘂

SHRI KESHAVBHATT KASHMIRI JI PROTECTING THE DHARMA

During the time of Shri Keshavbhatt Kashmiri ji, the emperor of Delhi was Alauddin Khilji, the Hindu population was fed up with his fierce nature.

He announced that all Hindu temples should be demolished. At that time, according to the orders of the Subedar of Mathura, a fakir hung a yantra on the red door, with the effect to which any Hindu who came out of that door would become a Muslim and those people would forcibly include him in their religion.

To avoid this great calamity, all the Brajwasis reached Shri Keshav Bhattji, Shri Keshavbhatt Kashmiri Ji himself took the disciple group along with him and went to that place and due to his 𝗩𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, that yantra became 𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, thus Shri Keshavbhatt Kashmiri Ji protected the Dharma with his divine grace.
